Title: Mears Moose

Title: Mears Moose

Description: Mears Peak is a 13,496-foot-elevation mountain summit located on the common boundary of Ouray County with San Miguel County, in Colorado. It's part of the Sneffels Range which is a subset of the San Juan Mountains, which in turn is part of the Rocky Mountains. In this captivating scene, a majestic bull moose emerges from the golden embrace of the Aspen forest, its imposing antlers a testament to its dominance during the rutting season. With a purposeful stride, it navigates the woodland, likely in pursuit of a mate, its presence commanding attention and respect. Caught in the midst of this seasonal spectacle, the image captures a fleeting moment of raw beauty and untamed wilderness.

Mears Peak is named for Otto Mears (May 3, 1840 – June 24, 1931), he was a famous Colorado road & railroad builder and entrepreneur who played a major role in the early development of southwestern Colorado area including the building of the Million Dollar Highway, and the Silverton narrow gauge railroad.

"Mears Moose" is part of the Limited Edition Collection: The Master's Canvas - Nature's Landscape.
